CyRIS - the Cyclone Real time Interactive System - was originally conceived as an interactive media wall administered by Iowa State University's Electrical and Computer Engineering department.
Since the inception of this project, the system has evolved in many ways. Hardware upgrades have increased the capabilities of the wall to display ultra high resolution video. Project specifications from the ECpE department have shifted in focus to match these new capabilities.
Midway through the spring semester, Union Pacific became a sponsor for the multimedia wall resulting in its rebranding from CyRIS to the Union Pacific Multimedia Wall.
When we took on this project, our team was asked to build an easy to use, attention-grabbing application suite for the wall with the sky as the creative limit.
We have implemented the following applications for the Union Pacific Multimedia Wall:
