Welcome:
Welcome to the May 13-02 Senior Design website. On this site you will find news, project documents, and weekly reports.
About:
Previous Objective:
Our objective is to design this scoreboard, paired with a smartphone application and a remote, that aid
in these small scale tournaments and athletic events. In order for the scoreboard to be effective, it
needs to be affordable, portable, and versatile (in terms of both the sports it can accommodate and how
it can be controlled).
Current Objective:
Our objective is still to create a scoreboard to be used in small scale tournaments and athletic events. Instead of using a smartphone application we will now be controlling the scoreboard using a web application that is hosted on the scoreboard.

Previous Deliverables:
- Functioning Multi-Sport Scoreboard: An integrated circuit that uses a microcontroller to update the display based input from the either the remote or app
- Android and iOS mobile application: Downloadable applications for smart phones and tablets that allow the user to pair with the scoreboard and update it accordingly. The app also allows for user to view scores from games being kept on the system.
- Bluetooth connective remote control: A failsafe for controlling the board that has less functionality than the apps.
- Database configuration: Holds the scores that are being kept, indexed by the participants and sport.
- Product User Manual: A detailed description of how to setup and use the scoreboard.
Current Deliverables:
- Functioning Multi-Sport Scoreboard: An integrated circuit that uses a Rasberry Pi to update the display based input from the web app. The Rasberry Pi will allow users to connect via WiFi
- Web App: Hosted on the Rasberry Pi within the scoreboard. The app allows one user to control the scoreboard and many users to view the scoreboard.
- Product User Manual: A detailed description of how to setup and use the scoreboard.
